NEW CAPTAINS IN POST READY FOR THE NEW SEASON!

Danny and Roshani were presented their ’shirts’ at the Club’s end of season get together, Sunday 25th July. They will be in post for the a year and are mainly there to provide a focus and voice for all young swimmers. They will be asked to have input on a new aspect to the club that of NON – SWIMMING, social activities with the young swimmers very much in mind.

Thanks to all for sharing good food and entertainment for the sunny afternoon in Upton.

Thanks mainly to the committte members, Karen, Sharon, Marion, Mandy, Deanna, for helping out, and particularly Lesley for coordinating it.

Thanks too, to Andrew of DIDCOT CALOR and PAVING for the loan of the big BBQ. Tony for the little BBQ. Derek for collecting big BBQ, music and Gazebo. Mark for another gazebo! Leily for the games.

Thanks to those who helped set up and those who stayed to clear up.

Ideas for next years always welcome!!

Well Done Barramundis!

David, Shannon and Daniella competed over 2 weekends at K2 in Crawley. They swam hard and well against the best in the South East Region -- all 3 were finalists! Now the new season begins for the journey to Regionals and beyond - again!

Well done to Ricky who won Best Boy at the Oxford Gala. There were 61 boys and he won 8 gold and 2 silver medals

Adele Page came 6th out of 85 girls. The Barramunids were flying high with a total of 1 speeding ticket, 24 golds, 11 silvers, 12 bronzes. Regional times came from Daniella Springett (100free) and Shannon Motha (200free).

At the ESSA international in Glasgow, March 19th – 21st 2010, Alex Murphy came a magnificant 3rd as a 14yr old against 2 strong 16yr old scottish swimmers in the 100mbrst (1.08.44). The age band (the Intermediates) was 14-16yrs ie Years 10 & 11.

Joe Patching (16) back stroke, Alex Murphy (14) on breaststroke, Matt Powell(15) on fly and Samuel Davies (16) on Free. Alex was against Craig Benson (16) who had earlier beaten him in the 100brst event!

His medley relay team stormed in to 1st place after fighting off the very strong Scottish Squad again who were made to work hard despite being on their home ground.

The final overall result for whole Gala was England 1st, Scotland 2nd, Ireland 3rd and Wales 4th.

Alex Murphy Breaks 5 Records and David Murphy Breaks 1 Record!

Alex Murphy (14yrs) had a very successful weekend at the the Oxon and Bucks County Championships held in Aquavale, Aylesbury, this weekend. Here are his results:

200 brst (2.25.18) he was 1st in the JNR (16 and under) and 1st in the Open (all ages) Championship.

In this event, he broke the 14yr Age group Championship record. This is also a National Qualifying Time.

50 brst (30.39) he was 1st in the JNR and 3rd in the Open Championships.

In this event he broke the Age group record and the JNR County record.

This is also a SOUTH EAST REGIONAL Junior Record (16&U – Short Course)

50free (25.36) he was 3rd in the JNR section and broke the Age group record.

100IM (1.3.06) he was 2nd in the JNR section.

Well done Alex!!

Well done, too, to David Murphy (11yrs)!! He has broken 50m breaststroke Championship Record for 11 yr age group with a time of 38.60
