Please find attached an entry pack for our Club Champs which takes place on the following dates:

25/26th Sept

2nd Oct

3rd Oct – 800/1500m events only

14th Nov – back up date for the 800/1500m events.

As The Wave is not suitable for holding competitive swimming galas, we are fortunate to be invited (this will be our 3rd year) to the City of Oxford Club Champs along with 4 other small swimming clubs.

It will operate in the same way as other swimming galas, whereby our swimmers will compete against swimmers from the other clubs but there are no medals handed out on the day. For medals, our swimmers will be competing against Barramundi swimmers only, and these medals will be presented at our Presentation Night taking place from 7.30pm to 10.30pm on 27th Nov at Didcot Football Club. Another great social event for all the family!

ALL swimmers are expected to enter the Club Champs and encouraged to enter as many events as possible, under the guidance of their swimming coach. Please ask the coach which races to enter for your swimmer and an entry time if possible so they can be seeded against similiar swimmers.

If your swimmer has not competed before this will be a great first gala, perhaps a little less formal than other galas but still as important. There will be more Barramundi swimmers attending than usual, therefore a great team spirit and lots of support.

All of the events will take place at Temple Cowley swimming pool and swimmers can use the times from this gala for entry into the County Championships, if fast enough, which take place in March 2011.

Unlike other galas, that we attend, 8 year olds will be able to compete.

Within the pack you will find the programme of events – split into “sessions” and within each session are a number of events listed with the event no. first, followed by a B/G (Boy/Girl), then the distance i.e. 100metres followed by the stroke ( IM = Individual Medley, BK = Backstroke, FL = Butterfly, FR = Freestyle, BR = Breaststroke)

The cost of entering is £3.50 per event, please complete the entry form (within the attachment) by PRINTING all details (ensuring the form is signed) and pass to me or leave in an envelope (clearly marked for my attention) in the Barramundi tray at The Wave no later than 31st July.

Any cheques should be made payable to DIDCOT BARRAMUNDI SC, as with all swimming galas they like to receive one cheque from the club so we ask for all payment to us, then we send one cheque to City of Oxford.
