Alex wins Gold and Bronze and Helps Take England to Victory!

At the ESSA international in Glasgow, March 19th – 21st 2010, Alex Murphy  came a magnificant 3rd as a 14yr old against 2  strong 16yr old scottish swimmers in the 100mbrst (1.08.44). The age band  (the Intermediates)  was 14-16yrs ie Years 10 & 11.

Joe Patching (16) back stroke, Alex Murphy (14) on breaststroke, Matt Powell(15) on fly and Samuel Davies (16) on Free. Alex was against Craig Benson  (16) who had earlier beaten him in the 100brst event!

His medley relay team stormed in to 1st place after fighting off the very strong Scottish Squad again who were made to work hard despite being on their home ground.

The final overall result for whole Gala was England 1st, Scotland 2nd, Ireland 3rd and Wales 4th.
