Barramundi’s Alex Murphy (14) is flying to Glasgow Friday 19th March with 19 other England team mates representing ESSA. The WISE International is being held at the Tollcross Leisure Centre, Glasgow on Saturday 20th March. He will be swimming his usual 100brst and 100brst in the relay! WISE is Wales, Ireland Scotland and England.

Please find below details of the Maxwell Level 3 gala taking place on the weekend of 19th/20th June. This will be one of the first galas where swimmers can start achieving county times for next year!

They are offering 50, 100 and 200m races of each stroke along with the 100 and 200m IM.

There is a “consideration time” and a “not faster than time” for this gala so your entry time should fall between the two. If you are not sure which event to enter please ask your coach for advice and an entry time, which should be filled in on the entry form within the attached information.

This a first come first served gala and will fill up quickly so Debi would like all entries along with payment of £4.50 per event (Cheques payable to Didcot Barramundi SC) by 30th March.

ABINGDON AND COVENTRY 8TH/9TH MAY, 2010, GALAS

ABINGDON - Suitable for all swimmers. First come, first served.

This gala will take place on the evening of 8th May.

50m races of each stroke are offered with the fastest 8 swimmers (combined time of all 4 races) in each age group compete in a 200m IM final. 9 year olds will compete in a 100m IM final.

The cost of entering is £4.50 per event or £16 for all 4 events.

Please check with your coach if this gala is suitable for your swimmer and if you would like to enter please complete the entry form, in the attached information, by entering a time against the relevant race. Your coach will be able to advise you on an entry time, if you are not sure.

Please pass your entry time and fee to Debi (Cheques payable to “DIDCOT BARRAMUNDI SC”) by Sun 21st March.

COVENTRY Level 1 Gala – Minimum Qualifying times apply, please check attached information.

This gala will take place over the 2 days and would be great practice of swimming in a 50m pool ahead of regionals. Swimmers can still qualify for regionals at this gala (deadline for regionals is 17th May). If you would like to enter please complete the entry form attached and pass to Debi with payment by 26th March.

Alex Murphy Breaks 5 Records and David Murphy Breaks 1 Record!

Alex Murphy (14yrs) had a very successful weekend at the the Oxon and Bucks County Championships held in Aquavale, Aylesbury, this weekend. Here are his results:

200 brst (2.25.18) he was 1st in the JNR (16 and under) and 1st in the Open (all ages) Championship.

In this event, he broke the 14yr Age group Championship record. This is also a National Qualifying Time.

50 brst (30.39) he was 1st in the JNR and 3rd in the Open Championships.

In this event he broke the Age group record and the JNR County record.

This is also a SOUTH EAST REGIONAL Junior Record (16&U – Short Course)

50free (25.36) he was 3rd in the JNR section and broke the Age group record.

100IM (1.3.06) he was 2nd in the JNR section.

Well done Alex!!

Well done, too, to David Murphy (11yrs)!! He has broken 50m breaststroke Championship Record for 11 yr age group with a time of 38.60
